Attached are a few pics of my Grabbers (Black 1971, Baby Blue 1972) that I have had in storage and hauled around for 20 years. Both these cars are 302 w/ C4s. Always thought I would fix them up but have never found the $. I had the 302 in the -71 rebuilt about 10 yrs ago at a machine shop in Portland, OR and have never fired it up (still needs the tranny installed). I also have other misc Maverick parts which I collected over the years ("Maverick" valve covers, 2 Grabber hoods, 2 black uncracked dashpads, new headers, maverick emblems, 7-Maverick slotted mags with center caps, etc)

Background: My first car out of high school (19 yrs old) was a used 1972 Maverick Grabber, 302, 3spd on floor, Baby Blue with black stripes, 46,000 miles on it. Sold it 7 yrs later with 150,000 on it and it looked as good as the day I bought it. I washed and waxed it almost every week for those 7 years--it was my baby. It tore me up when I sold it to pay for college. Bought these two in the mid 80s and have never been able to justify the $ to fix them up. I am debating about selling everything since it doesn't seem like I will ever get to them.

Therefore I thought I should post at least one time on this site before I get rid of the cars (if I can get myself to do it) since I have enjoyed visiting this site for the past 8 to 10 yrs. Feel like I know some of the people that post here even though I have never met any of you.

That is a nice pair of Grabbers. It's refreshing to hear someone that would let the cars go when they don't have the opportunity to fix them up themselves. Most people would let them rot back to the earth and still won't sell because they intend to "restore them someday".:thumbs2:

Nice Grabbers!!! I understand your dilemma, its hard to part with something you have held onto for soo long. Keep one and sell the other to finance the keeper. Good luck!!!

:Welcome: from Oregon -----lurker :) took you long enough

Thats a couple nice looking cars, what do they need to be fixed up? You will probably kick yourself in the butt if you get rid of both of them.

The sensation you get when you are out driving these cars is undescribable

Welcome aboard! You have quite a few of our members up there in Washington. Not sure how close they might be but I'm sure some will chime in soon. :)

    Battle Ground. That's practically Oregon.

Get one of those running and drive it around a little. Might change your mind about selling. Good advice here already - sell one and build the other! But before you make any hasty decisions, fire 'em up, and get your blood flowing!

keep the black grabber if you can only keep one, they were pretty rare I think, I know how you feel but unless they are outside rotting or you really need the money I would try to keep both! I have a garage full of unfinished projects!

You know, with all the members up there, you might be able to persuade someone to finish one up for you in exchange for the other car. With two nice Mavs a ton of other parts as well, you've got a lot of bargaining power to get something done even if you don't have the time to do it yourself.

    Just a thought.
