Hey theres gonna be flashlight drags at the Clarion County Airport in Pennsylvania here on June 24. Registration is 3-4 and it starts at 5. Anybody going? My friends told me there was a Grabber there last month. I should be there in my flat black 4 door. (y)

    Legal?

Since you mention 'registration', I assume it is.

    ???whassat?

Sounds cool, especially since it has the word "drag" in it.

But, now that I think about it, I can think of some things with "drag" in them that are not cool (like "drag queen" :16suspect ).

    Yeah its legal.
Flashlight drags.. no christmas tree, just starter that flashes a flashlight to start.. its suppost to be like old times i guess. Its 1/8 mile on a airport runway, no time slips just bragging rights. Some of my friends went last month and said there were around 100 cars there and one Grabber Maverick, and they all said it was a great time and got alot of runs in. Funny yall havn't heard about flashlight drags, they seem to be getting pretty common.
    Heres their website http://alteredgas.com/flashlight_drags.html

heres a pic of the Mav that was there, anyone know whos it is? http://www.alteredgas.com/pics/displayimage.php?album=28&pos=399

We used to have that here at one of are airports till the zoning shut us down. Whats tech like hows the traction do they put down VHT or other trackbite? What`s the faster cars there supposed to be runnin? You got me thinkin its a 4 hr ride but I might be able to make it. But I would trailer my car close to there then drive it in. Also if you find out if NOS allowed to.

I bet that is why it's only 1/8 mile.

    Yeah its only 1/8 mile.

We use to race the whole 1/4 mile at the St. Marys Airport, they even had a tree and timing system but they arnt racing there this year

I don't know what tech is like but I bet its not much and don't know about VHT either. All i really know is what is on their website, have a look around there. I'll try to gather more info when I see my friends tonight.

That is really cool! Back from the ROOTS of racing!

The only thing better would be some girl in a fuzzy sweater waving a scarf at takeoff...

Hey, I din't see any other mavs at the drags, but it was awsome anyways. It was a great time! There was around 180 cars there and a crap load of people. I got 7 runs in and could have got more than double that in if I hadn't taken all that time to stop and B.S. I think the track was a bit over 1/8 mile because i was hitting 75mph at the end, and traction sucks there. And tech inspections there was, well non existant. Now I gotta make my Maverick faster :bananaman

Next one is July 15. Gates open at 3 and racings from 5 to 9.

And no trailors are allowed, its suppost to be a "street" car event.. but looking a couple miles down the road there were many trailors scattered about.

Lots of fast cars were there. And some semi-trucks were running and even a guy on a vespa scooter.

Pictures should be posted on their website soon. :bouncy:
