Deal is on hold at best. I wanted to post up about this deal for two reasons, I hate it when a guy says "I am getting this and will have parts" and it never happens. And to belly-ache about wrecking my 8 month old resto Torino. So the Maverick probably won't be coming home and well, ...wah Stuck throttle almost killed me. If stuff changes I'll be back!
Man, thats tuff luck! I hope you're OK, but the car is definately toast! Makes me sick to look at that, love the old Torinos before they got fat and ugly...
Thansk guys, yeah Im ok, Stitches and staples in my head. Throttle stuck at a normal take off and I blipped it thinking it would unstick. After that I tried to hit the key but I nicked teh curb and spun it into a few trees and a pole. No one hurt Thank God, just my pride. My mav buddy may be selling me his 70 Fairlane so he wants the Maverick. Car had double return springs, no mechanical interference visible. All feels like it was inside the carb. Ill tear down the cable tonight and check that. It was still stuck when the wrecker dropped it off at my house. I had NO syptoms of stickyness. Wish I had some knowledge to impart other thaat practice hitting the key. I am finding this stuff is really common. See you guys around for sure
hmmm, maybe it's a good idea to install an ignition kill within easy reach, I had the throttle stick in my mav crossing a 4 lane highway, and had to hit a curb head on to stop, I was only going 35, but still scared the hell out of me. Glad you're ok
