I've raced my 68 Camaro off and on since 1969. In the early days I had a 292 Chevy six engine. One of my competitors, Clem LaChance "The Mad Frenchman" raced a Maverick with a Ford six.

I was recently given the attached picture (see thumbnail below) showing us dueling it out at Dove Drag Strip (now closed) in Wingdale, NY http://doverdragstrip.com/

On October 18 we are going to have a rerun at
    [IMG]

Since we both claim we won that race the rerun should settle any confusion.

We both belong to the Nostalgia Car Club NETO - North East Timing Organization http://www.neto-nostalgia.com/ and we are having a great time nostalgia racing here in the north east.

The pictures you have are of Frenchy's current Maverick. this is the second or third one he's had. The blue one was rolled many years ago. Frenchy's current car, still with a Ford six and weber carbs, runs high 10 seconds. Pat's "sixfiend", alas, is no longer with a six. He has a "warmed over" 327 and runs about a second slower than Frenchy. Visit the NETO website, click on Bio's, and you can see some of the members. Unfortunately, there are far too many "empty" bio's ( Its tough to get some guys to do anything on ciomputers).

Neat pics. I raced a few times at Island dragway back in the 60's.:)

The Red Maverick is Bruce Sizemore's Preparation H That is the same class I ran with my Camaro.

In the 80's he ran a 72 Pinto with a high powered Ford six and did very well. By then we had switched to a V8 powered Chevy II.

Upload a picture of the engine bay. That'll help a lot.
