Front bumper

    I just took the front bumper and all brackets off my 73 mav, it weighed 82lbs Its not going back on.

    Don't throw it away yet....

    ..I know that some states will not pass vehicles on an inspection
    without bumpers. If you are not keeping it street legal, then forget I said anything!

    No inspection in Kasas, Im going to put small bumpers on it sometime anyways. Later

    other options

    are you going to drive it on the street to be legal? i know M.A.S racing and fiberglass direct has fiberglass front and rear bumpers for pretty cheap i think 70 bucks maybe cheaper...i dunno i don't have the magazine with me.....they weigh more than half that. and would probably pass inspection if painted...~Dan~

    73 Bumpers

    I used to have a 73 Maverick. I took the front bumper off and removed the big heavy metal insert inside. I fabricated some brackets to mount inside the now empty bumper and put it back on. Saved alot of weight and preserved the looks. Dan
