    Hi,
Bought my first Maverick yesterday! A 74 four door, Love it!!
My first problem is, i went to fill the near empty tank and the gas literally flows out of the tank onto the bumper. regardless of the angel or speed of fill up... It took almost 20 minutes to put 5 dollors in, and i am covered in fuel... The gas gauge went from nearly empty to about a quarter, so i know it wasnt full.... any ideas???????

Fill the tank slowly with the filler nozzle held in and the tip of the nozzle down.
It also helps if you have the car parked down an incline - even a small one.

They used to make a spring that u put down the inlet to keep thieves from sticking a hose in and stealing gas, these were sometimes restrictive, also my 55 has a vent tube at the top of tank with a small hose that went up, if mavericks have a vent it could be stopped up
