Earl and I picked up the '70 Maverick I bought off e-bay this morning. It is already for the track. Well, as I soon as I put drivetrain in it, tires, mount the seats. It has a professionaly installed 8-point cage with stout sub-frame connectors through the floors. The car is in great shape overall. The body is very solid and he included the trim pieces, a double hump tranny mount, a grill, and a set of headers (these are going to find themselves on my '73. One more little detail...it has a 9" rear end from a '57 Frod already in stalled with the stock suspenion (Earl has dibs on that rear end if I don't keep it, so don't ask). Here's a few pictures. I'll post some better pics when I get it off the trailer. Oh, I bought the car for $613. Did I get a good deal.
MAV, I haven't decided yet. I can go either way with this setup. I do like the idea of a "streetable" 9.9 second car. On the other hand, I do want a car strictly for the strip. I guess I could build a "street legal" car that is only run at the strip and can make those "30 mile cruises" that the street legal drags require. I dunno whatcha think?
looks like a great start..lots of work already done i would make it street legal .......just think of being able to cruse to the local parts store or cruse in or running to pick up the pizza ..not worry about any ricers pulling up next to you going to out run it the last pic that your wife wanted you to upload is so everyone knows what you looked like before she gets hold of you ...........
Hell I don't worry about that and mine has comfy seats and a heater! Terry- Nice score! Looks like you got a bit dirty dragging it home. Way to go.
Actually she wanted to get a picture of me with two Mavericks in view. She wanted me to move to the driveway so she could one of me with four Mavricks in view. I think she wanted to send those to her friends who gripe about their husbands that have only one car. She is very supportive of this addiction of mine. You might say that she is an enabler.bananaman:bananaman
terry, i hate to be the bearer of bad news but i do see a problem with that maverick. mainly that it's not in my driveway. don't forget to hit the rpm's a little in the pizza place parking lot so you can set off all the alarms in the rce rockets.
Terry.... ....your yard must be looking like Doug's lately. What do you have, 3 or 4 now? Good luck with the new one. Seth
