I gave my Maverick a headliner for Christmas. It is glued onto the pinch weld all around and I need to finish it off. Here are my questions:

    1) Any suggestions for finishing the A&B Pillars?
    2) Do I need fiberglass filler under the rear sails?
    3) When I trim the xtra headliner for the front and rear glass installation, do I leave the headliner on both sides of the pinch weld (I did glue it on both sides)?
    4) Before installing the front and rear glass, is there anything I should do first (I have heard that some trim should go on first)?

Thanks, this has gone fairly easy so far and I have never tried this before. The forum had some very helpful Tech Articles.

    1. The A pillar has a plastic trim/button that completes that area. The B pillar simply gets a fold there.

    2. There are trim pieces that go at the bottom of the C pillar that also trim out the ends of the package tray.

    3. Leave the headliner on BOTH sides of the pinch weld.

    4. No trim goes on first....just install the glass first.

    Thanks Craig,

Anyone have any pictures of the A, B and C pillar headliner finish? I'm not sure I have the plastic trim finish pieces for the A and C pillars.

I put sealer behind the clip studs before installing the trim clips.

Thanks, I think the above information answers all my questions except as follows:

    1) Does the attached picture show the A pillar clip referred to? If so, does it just pop out with plastic studs? I suspect I just fit a fold under it and reattach?
    2) I see no reason to put a fiberglass filler under the rear sail. Let me know if anyone feels strongly otherwise.

    1) Yes....that is the clip. Take (2) small flat screwdrivers. Place them in the middle of the clip...one on each side. Gently pry both sides EQUALLY at the same time. Yes....Fold it under. Maybe somebody will post a picture of what it looked like originally. Mine has been redone or I would post it.

Be very careful when you do, they are easy to break...

Impatient, I broke them both. Unfortunately, I did not see Craig's post before I tried, but I know where I can get 2 more. If not, just a fold doesn't look too bad.

    SCS,
Did you mark your screw holes for the coat/visor hooks, side window latches, overhead light and the visor center retainer? The can be a real PIA to find if you have not. My headliner guy had me put a screw in them before install. You can run your hands over it to find them. You then just cut them out with a razor blade.

    SCS,
Just looked at your original quetion.

I had the jute type material at the rear sail panels. You can see the remnants in this picture:

Thanks. I guess I should have put something under the sails, but I didn't. It is pulled pretty tight and I think I will be OK. Yes, I did put the screws in per the guidance in ford84stepside's post. I am happy with what I did considering it was a rookie attempt, but I would definitely do some things different. Lots of small details missing from any post I could find. I will post a summary of my lessons learned once the windows are in tomorrow.

I covered the pillars with the same headliner material.

I am in the middle of a window install with a local installer. We have some questions I am in urgent need of answers, so if someone knows windows, could you call me. It is 1:24PM central time and I would need help before 2PM. 715-603-5031

    Thanks,

    Steve
