    i am trying to remove a couple of thing from the engine, i dont know what i cound take of, it looks to crowded in their and also were are the upper control arm bushings located?

    1972 Maverick 2 door.Original V-8 3 spd std shift.Also a 72 one owner Sprint sporting a 351 Windsor
    What are you trying to remove??? the bushings are on the cross shaft that connects the upper controll arm to the shock tower. There are 2 nuts inside the engine compartment on the shock towers(down low).Pull them to remove the a arm then you will be able to re-build the arms(better off buying new ones)They can be a PITA to rebuild.Make sure you compress and remove the coil spring BEFOR trying to remove the a arm.Good luck.

    I agree with that!! The almost brand new lower control arm got twisted way out of shape when the front strut rod broke on my '72. I figgured, no biggie, I'll just use the bushing and ball joint out of it in the original control arm and be back on the road in no time. Boy, was i wrong. Definitely worth it to just buy whole new control arms.
