It's been a loooooong time--I don't even remember my old handle. I put my Comet in the garage a while back and felt too guilty coming here (or where here used to be). So, I have a granny Comet: 1974 gold 4 door with a vinyl top. In '96, I'd been driving it 100 miles round trip to work every day and decided I needed something less scary, put the Comet back in the 1-car garage, and got a new car. I've since moved and put my Comet from the moving van into the (now 2-car) garage. I've been parking my driveable car out in the snow because of my Comet (out of guilt I had to let my spouse have the other slot). I thought about getting it running because oddly enough there's a dearth of classic cars in Dearborn, MI. I guess this really is the rust belt. Nothing over 5 years old looks good. I'm not gonna drive my lil mercury here! (Anyway, I don't think it could handle the potholes.) It looks like we'll be moving again, back to CA. I get to figure out a way to move my disabled car. So perhaps I'll post a query on the car resurrection forum. To be honest, I came here to see if anyone was buying 4 door comets--I don't want my car parted out, but I thought I'd be OK with passing it on to a cometlover. But you got all those awful pictures up on this site and now I'm jonesing for my comet again. Thanks alot!
