Hey everyone just wanted to come in and give a shout. I currently own a 72 mav with a non grabber optioned 302 and an original C-4... Now it has a 350 HP 306, Lentech AOD, built 8 inch diff etc... I am getting ready to re-build her again now that I have more money and time and skill and resources at my disposal. It has been about 7 or 8 years since the motor was pulled out last. She is falling into a state of neglect and it makes me sad. This is my first car in high school, it was a father / son project build and is my mom's first new car in '72. We are going to shoot for a pro touring theme with new car suspension and brakes, a low compression 347 stroker with a Vortech supercharger pushing a ridiculous amount of boost on a roller 5.0 based motor with fuel injection. We will be keeping the Lentech and pulling the diff in favor of a 9" or 8.8". We are aiming to graft on the entire front K member of a fox body or at least build a similiar suspension setup. For the rear we are looking to do a triangulated 4 link with coilovers. Looking forward to posting and reading what everyone has to say. I will also be posting pics throughout the build (mostly to help me remember what it looked like ). In the process of pulling the parts together now and begginning disassembly. Talk to ya soon!
Found an okay pic of the car at my folks house... I used to be very active in the San Diego Municple Roadway Racing association, we met every saturday night at the Super Shops, Burger King, or Longs drug parking lots That was back in 97-03 or 04... I also spent 4 years in LA in the Thousand Oaks area, people seem to remember the car so if you do give a shout and say hi!
Sounds like a very cool concept you've got. I'll definitely be watching for pictures. I'm building a 72 Mav roadracer with a more vintage take on the hardware.
