How hard to convert 3sp manual trans to c4

    Have a 73 Comet with 302 and 3sp manual trans, I want to go to a c4 trans(c4 trans I have) what all is needed to do this conversion, like changing trans crossmember , etc

    Flexplate with tooth count that matches your C4 bellhousing, trans cooling lines, vacuum line for modulator, Floor or column shifter + linkage or cable, shift lever on your trans should match the style shifter you choose, a kickdown rod would be good. This list is off the top of my head and does not include any reverse light, or neutral safety stuff.

    Do you know what your C4 came out of, or what year it is?

    Oh, and probably the automatic brake pedal. Some years you can swap pedals without removing the assembly I think. I read that somewhere.....lol.

    The tranny crossmember is the same for all V8 cars that have a 3 speed or C4

    if I were going automatic I would go AOD for the overdrive...JMO

    Depending on the radiator, does it have provisions for the A/T lines.

    A mini starter would be a nice upgrade with your swap.
