    Greetings!

Newbie to the board, but not Fords!

Trying to figure out when Ford changed the hub size from 2.42" to the "corporate" 2.78" diameter...... Can anyone help? I'm guessing that they did this in 1974? So rotors/axles will interchange 1970-1973 and 1974-1977?

I'm working on a rear disk brake conversion that uses all Ford parts, easy to find, and best of all, cheap!!! (because they are way plentiful!) Once I get the info, I can post a write up on what I'm working on...... I need to know where this change occured because parts will differ slightly.

I know that it works on 1965-73 Mustangs, Cougars etc. But the Maverick and Comets managed to move thru the "dark years" at Ford relatively unscathed!!!!

    Thanks in advance!
    Steve

SInce 74 was the first year for disc in Mavericks & Comets, That would be the year the hub size changed. However, I dont know if the non disc cars still had smaller hubs in 74.
