Anybody have experience doing this on a maverick? I use ours for regular 40 mile trecks and it would make the trip a might more pleasant.
Just run a coat hanger from the throttle cable to a pair of vise grips on the dash to hold constant speed. Be sure to run the hanger under the brake pedal so it disengages when you hit the brakes! I am curious too... Don't really need it, but it is an interesting topic.
i would think you might be able to strip what you need off a lincoln or another high end curse controll'd ford of the period. if you get into the newer stuff youd probably have alot more wiring to deal with
There are after-market kits that use add-on parts controlled by magnets on the driveline. These are ok - they wire into the brake and clutch pedals and have all the basic controls. They are a lot easier to install than trying to adapt from another car to the Maverick.
