Stay with the roller cam. You will be happier and avoid issues related to the current available oils and flat tappets.
i wanted to put a solid cam and lifters in i do know that the roller is way better just looking for ways to cut down the price of my engine build
True that you can save costs up front. But if you wipeout a lobe during break in or down the road your savings will be wiped out I know someone that this happened to just last week.
if you have a hydraulic roller cam motor,why would you think it would be cheaper to put flat tappet lifters in it...
Yes you can use solid or hydraulic flat tappets lifters and cams in roller blocks IF you use longer pushrods and a adjustable valvetrain
