I have a 1973 Mercury Comet GT. I am going to a junk yard tomorrow to find some panels for it. The bad part is that there are only Mavericks at the yard and no comets. The hood on my car is bent and I was wondering if I could take the hood scoop off of my Gt hood and put it on a standard Maverick hood (not a grabber)? It’s fine if I have to drill holes. I also need to get a driver side door. Will a Maverick door work and what year models will fit?
Hood for a Maverick is different than a Comet. You will need t find a Comet hood. The doors are the same. You may need to move your hardware over inside the door to get it to work. Some 1976 and 1977 had smooth metal on the inside metal, which would not be correct for a 1973.
