In a few days an insurance adjuster will be coming out to to take a look at my deer damaged Maverick. While the damage is pretty minor, the hood molding is bowed from where the deer banged it's head against the hood. It's not all that noticeable now, but once the hood is repaired, it will stick out like a sore thumb. I'm fairly certain that the adjuster will have no idea how hard these moldings are to find, or how much one would cost to replace. The molding on the car was not an NOS one, but it was an almost flawless. How much do the experts here think a used hood molding with no scratches, dings or oxidation would cost to replace with one in the same condition? BTW, I printed out the ebay auction for the NOS one that sold a few months ago just for proof of what they are selling for. I figured it wouldn't hurt to have that information handy.

I'd say about $150 for a perfect one but not NOS,

PS, remember when you could get NOS ones for $50?

That figures. I sell the Stallion and NOW a piece like that black hood molding shows up.:slap: Must be Murphy's Law. Thanks for the help guys. It's been almost 10 years since I bought a hood lip molding, so I really wasn't sure what they would go for now a days.

I've seen those Stallion pieces on eBay before. Personally ... I'd would take a crappy but un-dented standard one and paint it before buying an NOS Stallion peice ....

Since they are painted, you could even take one that was pitted or dented (small) and repair it with filler, prime it and paint it and if done properly, would be as good as any new one.

This is true. Unfortunately, I don't need one of those now. I might need a plain old aluminum one, depending on what the adjuster says. I have a spare one somewhere in this house, but do you think I can find it?:banghead: I can't even remember what kind of shape it's in. When I stop looking for it, that's when I'll find it.
