Today I typed in the 500th name into the Maverick Comet Club International, Inc. database. When I first started helping out the club with being the editor and vice-president....the database had about 100 names in it. It has steadily grown since then. Not all of the names are "active" members of the MCCI....but most of them still are. It is nice to see the MCCI continue to grow....and we have all of you out there to thank for it.

It just means that the Round-Up is put on by MCCI members for MCCI members. A lot of MCCI hard work and MCCI money goes into putting on a Round-Up.....it doesn't just "happen". So....it is only fair that MCCI members attend. It has always been this way.

then they/we/US give you a membership form and you get to join;)
Actually, a large % of the people who attend the Round-up renew their yearly membership at that time.

I wouldn't say a LARGE percentage of people renew....maybe 2 or 3 renewals tops at the Round-Up. We have a lot of new members join.....about 10 or so at a Round-Up.

We really need the renewals sent in way before then. The MCCI budgets are set-up on the fact that an "x" amount of people will be renewing their membership. When the renewals don't come in....or come in late....it costs the club more money to "catch" those members up....plus it screws up the budgets. We really need the renewals sent in as soon as possible. :)

Craig, I've been remiss on renewing my membership as well! Ever since my C4 tranny sprung leaks that I couldn't find it kinda got me frustrated. How about we try something? I'll donate 50 "Beginning Powder Coater's Handbooks: An Introduction to Powder Coating (ISBN 0-9752652-1-0)" to the club to send out to the next 50 renewals/new applicants at no charge. Since the MCCI is mentioned in the Acknowledgements section I think it would work well. Heck, it might even renew MY membership!

Msg me with your address and I'll box them up and get them over. After all, the MCCI was the inspiration for writing it in the first place. Plus, the new/renewing members will get a $24.99 book just for renewing ;) Let me know your thoughts on this, I'd be happy to do it.

That would be like penalizing us members who paid on time. Just my :2cents: .

Tim, your right. I'd like to solve the problem and not penalise those who have been faithful in renewing but can you suggest a solution? I imagine there are well over 50 people who have paid the 2005 dues (?).

I'm open to working this out. It cuts into my book sales but anything that will boost MCCI membership is tops in my book (excuse the pun ;)

How bout a good discount and that should not hurt your sales as much and be fair to everyone?

I think a discount for MCCI members would be a great idea. Membership has it's priveledges!!
