Ok, I know you guys get bombarded with lame questions like these, but...

    1. Will standard long-tube, aftermarket ford headers work on a 302 in a Mavvy, or will the shock towers/spark plug issue interfere? Yes, I know they make special headers for Mavs w/ 351s and all that, but I didn't hear of any 302 header issues. Reason is: I work at Advance Auto Parts, and there's a set of Afterburner headers sitting pretty in the back that someone ordered but never picked up... and it's tempting me really bad.

    2. Motor mounts: I have access to the rubber or polyurethane mounts, but not the metal shells for the mounts. I need the belly plate, but I have found that Crites Restorations builds those... so I just need to figure out where to find these shells. I'm not looking for a "look in the junkyards" answer right here...

I appreciate all the help, I'm new to the Maverick...
You guys are great with technical help here!! I need all the help I can get right now: I'm a hard-core musclecar and resto-rod kid (18... I'm young, but not dumb) but I don't have a clue about some things Ford. The Chevy I restored is my first love... Haha, I know I'll get some flak from that comment...:)

The headers, compare your year Mav with a Stang's set against the part numbers. then use that info to compare with the set you have in the back. Do the same with the motor mounts. You'll find by using the parts books against themselves crossing over to a Stang, you can get just about anything you want.

Don't know about the afterburners, but most of us have the Hooker 6901's. And what do you mean by the motor mount "shells'? Maverick motor mounts are one piece, rubber bonded to steel. Are you talking about the frame stands? If so, that will be a used item, I don't think anybody is repoping them......

They are repopped but the price is ridiculous. Maverick Connection and I think AutoKrafters have 'em.

most standard long tube headers will not fit. i'd look at them closely if i were you.motor mounts are available at most auto parts stores. i got mine at napa. frame mounts are a different story. i don't know why they are so high priced but either autokrafters or ebay when you can find a set. some times someone on here puts a set up for sale. good luck.:)
