This spooky incident happened yesterday -07/16/05. Two guests
were in the living room about 4:00 p.m. in the afternoon and watching tv
when suddenly they heard my 74 comet turn on. They went to
the back door of the house and noticed that the car was on but no one in it! The car remained on for 5 minutes (it went off by itself). In addition, when they got there, they noticed that someone had moved a full can of aluminan cans to the back of the car and now its contents was spilled all over the yard. The bag was tied but now open. My initial explanation was an underground magnetic field. But how could this be? My car is manual transmission and was in reverse gear and someone had to push the clutch in. The car did not move. My guests were spooked and reported the incident to me. Are there Comet ghosts? :chillpill

Sounds like someone was trying to make off with your car and they got spooked! Is the car loud?

I swear my buzzer was haunted... but I exorcised it...

damn thing just went off for no reason... constantly... finally reached in there and pulled the plug.

Another thing worth mentioning, my Comet doesn't like anyone else. Just about every time someone else drove it, something screwed up. I'd drive it back home, it would work fine...

My 74 Maverick's horn started a constant beep one time at a HS football game, I had to pull the wire on it to stop it. LOL. The principal of the school hunted me down because of it.

Our Stallion seems to hate my husband. Everytime he touches it something happens to it. I never have trouble with it, so now he refuses to drive it anymore. I used to own a 1969 Mustang Mach1 that I swear was spooked. Like the Stallion, I never had problems with it, but if anyone else drove it, it would either act up or break down. Here's a story about this car that I swear on my Mother's grave I am not making up. One day at work my co-workers decided to play a joke on me. Without me knowing it,they pulled the coil wire off the Mach1 and hid it in the aircleaner just to see my reaction when the car would not start. When it was time to go home, I got in the car and turned the key. The car started up and I drove home. They were flabbergasted! The next day when I showed up for work in the Mach1, they ran over before I even got out of the car and asked me how on earth I got the car to start. I had no idea what they were talking about. Then they opened the hood, and I watched as they removed the aircleaner cover and pulled out the coil wire. I could'nt believe it! When I tried to start the car again it would not start. They were so freaked out that they never came near my Mach1 again. The day I sold the car I drove up to meet with the new owner. The car ran like a champ on the way up there. When the new owner went to drive it away, the car spit, sputtered, backfired and stalled. It kept that up until the car was out of my sight, leaving a trail of smoke behind it. What can I say? The car liked me and nobody else. To this day I wish I still had that car.:(

Mine had radio issues like that, came on and off when it pleased. Finally gave up on trying to have a radio and pulled all the wires. But seriously you guys have little to worry about until they start making trees fall on other cars lol. During Hurricane Charley every single tree on the street went down in the same direction, and the one that would have landed right on the comets hood twisted just as it was going down and took out the back of the buick. I wish I had taken pictures of it.
