A friend of mine has a supercharged 94 Z28 he was giveing me a bad time about the comet... what a crappy car, comets and maverick suck, cheep junk. Well I think your Z28 is crap! he paid $17,000 for the car and spent another $15,000 on a supercharger, subframe connectors, suspension and a few other things. so he has $32,000 in his Z28. his car is worth about $8,000 so he is down $24,000. So I paid $1000 for a V8 Comet I'll put a few grand in the car but I will never loose as much money as that Z28 and I am sure the Comet will be quicker....and the Comet is now going up in value!

At least if some one smashes a shopping cart into one of you`r car`s bumpers it will screw up the cart more if ya do the same thing to a crapmaro it will prolly poke a hole in the abs bumpers:D

As for the maverick and comet being cheap yes they are cheap thats one of the best things about them :D but the are not junk they are built just as good as the falcon and mustang IMHO they look better too

I put up with the same stuff at work. (this is where I have my car torn down) A buddy who works with me makes fun of my Maverick with every opportunity. He drives a 95 Supra turbo. It is fast. It has dynoed over 550hp to the wheels. But he has crazy money invested in it and his best time is 12.00 @ 128mph. I cannot wait until the day the mighty mav is done. I will be glad to show him what the Mav is truly capable of. I have shown him the timeslips of some of our mavericks and all you hear is his excuses. I told him about my 351 Cleveland Grabber and of 12second timeslips for a meager $3500 total investment and he finds it unbelievable. To each his own I say. Just have fun with the rivalries and all is good.:D

Imagine throwing 35grand at a Maverick. (I am sure all of us dream about unlimited budgets) What a car that would be;)

Just think how fast your car could be if you dumped in excess of $30K in it.

I would just grin like the cat that swallowed the canary.
I'll have countless hours and about 6 grand in my car when I'm done...(not that your ever really done) and I'd give your friend with the Cheby all he wants in the eighth.
His car will continually go down in value while yours steadily increases:clap:

Some of those guys don't realize how much their cars weigh. Camaros and the like = 3600 lbs. A lot of ricers are 3200 - 3400 lbs. Your Comet = 2800 - 3000 lbs. Makes a big difference.

Elliot you are so right John has destroyed 2 doors and the front bumber. All from very minor "taps" also the doors were about $2000 each and the front end was $3200. I just smile and try not to say anything.

There is more to a car than just going fast in a straight line. All cars have their merits. Hey, at least he is not out there driving up the price of all the good mavericks.
