havent been on the forum for a long time, just got a new mav this week, good to be back. had forgot about the forum, its good to have my dream car back.:bananaman ps heres the website for my mav. www.my74mav.tk
Great to see you found another Maverick, it seems like these cars definitely are special to their owners. I would be curious what the story is with your first Maverick?
this is the new mav, but when the guy put it on racingjunk i thought it was my old one, it looks just like my old one, i have had seven of these cars but my black one is the best, but this one is better, my son built that site just for the car and his bikes. i had forgot what its like to drive something with some power, just to bad its winter. randy
oh the story is i had just built the black mav with a 347 on a credit card, 11.000 worth and a couple months later we ran out of work so something had to go, so it was the car, i had not got to the track yet had no safty equipment, the guy that bought it took it to the track and went 10.93, stopped by to let me know and i about lost my mind, but thats the way it goes. so when this one came up on racingjunk i bought it, this one will stay home no more selling here:bananaman
Pretty Impressive Times Did the new owner do much more with it to get those times? What kinda of setup did it have? Was the engine a local build or had you ordered from someone else?
Me likee! I always love clean lines, uncluttered. Enjoy the Mav. I can understand what you went through having to sacrifice the first car. I know how I'd feel if I had to part with the Stallion.
the combo that was in the mav i made my self, i even had it copyrighted and sold over 300 on yahoo and ebay. it was sold as a booklet, it had stage 3 victor jr heads, 480 dome srp pistons comp cam that i designed 690 lift, 296@0.50 lift solid, the block was decked 0.08 the heads were cut 20 thousands and the victor jr intake was cut 0.15, it had a 850 dp holly. it was 40 over block. fully balanced, total compression was about 15.8 to 1. had a c4 with a 5500 converter, 534 gear, yes it was an 8 inch with a spool, 29 buy 11.5 slicks. this one i have now is not as fast but the body is alot more solid, and i can allways do another motor.
