so i got a '72 maverick 7 months ago and started to work on it cuz it was in need of some tlc and now im down to the final thing of getting it on the road. The only problem im having is that the brakes wont work and its a wiring problem. First things first, is that the guy before me changed the switch on the brake pedal and pulled the wires out of the connectors( green with red dotted lines and green with white line) and i cant match up the wires to any of the wiring diagrahms i have found, and plus they look chinese to me. So if i could bother someone to discribe what the connectors look like or where ever they go, it would be much help.

The 2 wires go to the brake light switch. It doesn't matter which wire goes where as long as both wires are hooked to the switch.

That's the thing, my wires go to the brake switch. They don't go anywhere else. The person who had it b4 me, I don't think knew the switch un plugged and cut the wires b4 the plug/or pulled the out. So now I have 4inches of wire connected to the switch.

Quick Answer: Solid Green wire from the output of your Brake Switch, to your ECU. (if your ECU calls for this signal)

    Detailed Answer:

Your Brake Switch is a Momentary, SPST (Single Pole Single Throw) Switch, that will have close to the +12 volts DC on the output, that you're wanting when the Brakes are pressed.

You cannot take this signal from your Brake Light socket (Not that you would try with it being all the way in the trunk), as you would also see +12 volts DC, when the turn signals are on. You have to come off the output of the Brake Switch, which is the solid Light Green Wire (Factory Wiring that hasn't been modified).
