we have a 73 2door maverick. it had a 200 i6 but it gave up. so we built a mild 302 and a c4 from a '80 ltd. now the prroblems....... 1: we have the correct motor mounts and double hump crossmember from a 74 4 door. but the 302 was missing the block side mounts. do i need the mounts for a maverick or will new mounts for a ltd work? 2: the driveshaft. seems the yokes are different sizes. the ltd was missing it's drive shaft. what can i do? 3:this is the biggie right now. the exhaust. we have shorty headers on it now and also have a pair of two chamber flows to go on. the car is a 73 + SC has no emmision laws= no cats. the cheapest we have found to have pipes from the headers to the mufflers is 250. >:0 anyway a mustang h-pipe will fit? thanks! rob and shannon sutton
You will need Maverick mounts (the ones that attach to the block) and Maverick V8 frame mounts (the "U" shaped brackets that attach to the frame) What kind of shorty headers do you have? Mustang shorties won't work. The general consensus is that Hedman #88-400 shorties for the Falcon work fairly well. I would be very surprised if a Mustang "H" pipe fit well. JMO
Hedman #88300 long tubes work great ,with a nice power gain . Also it sounds like you have a C-5 Trans and need to change the yolk !
