Looking good! Did you do anything with the engine to take advantage of the additonal CFM? How big is the carb? Gonna have any issues with the throttle cable hookup?
Sure did...bigger cam, soon to have upgraded ignition, bored .030 over, carb is jetted, dual outlet headers, internally regulated alt. 45,000v coil, bigger wires, you know...the usual. There's more stuff done to the engine but I'd rather not say yet until it works Jeff Oh yeah, there may be some issues with linkage hook up but I can make something work...like I did with the adapter for it.
Looks good Jeff!! Glad you can get some good use out of it. Should push that 200 right on down the road!! Engine looks GREAT!!! Hurry up an git 'er done!! Got any pics of the header? Gonna be mean!! Good Luck! Preston
Well, when I talked to him on the phone earlier, we were trying to decide what he should go with. We both think he should go ahead with it. More effiecient for sure. Any suggestions y'all? Preston
Hawko, when I used that carb, I didn't have the kick-down rod. Just seems like you have to manually downshift the tranny. Other than that, I don't really understand the point of them?? Could someone explain the full use of the kick-down rod?? 'Cause I still don't have one on the new setup, and don't really know if I need one. (?) Seems to work fine without it. Like I said, just downshift manually. Preston
That's fine for you and me. BUT, for a daughter, learning to drive an automatic car and only shifting to D or R, the "Passing Gear" is nice to have. I even like using the passing gear in a car that was designed for one. I guess that's the difference between young and 40-something or btween daily driver and street toy.
