Hello fellow Maverick guys. I've always been a ford guy, but just within the past year and half have i fallen in love with Mavericks. I got a 73' with a hot little 289 in it backed by a well built c-4. Still have the bench seat and column shift and i never plan on doing away with either one of them. My dad has built a pretty quick 71 comet with a stocky 351W with a cross ram setup. Glad to finally find a site like this one with knowledgeable people that also have the love for these little cars that i do.

Thanks man, he's been messing with it for little over 4 years now and has went through about 3 engine builds that he hasnt been happy with but i think hes finally happy with this build. It's not a show car by any means, it's built to run, we finally got around to getting a set of slicks for it so he can hook at the strip, last time he ran was with his last 2x4 set up and it ran a 7.87 spinning pretty much the whole 1/8. It's def. one of a kind. Hope to see you around sometime, we're located in Rowan County. I head to about every cruise in around.

Yeah man, that Comet is the heat. I love an unusual setup and a cross ram is a first for me. Looks menacing.
No hood to cover all that engine up?

Mercy I'd do something like double, separate shakers just to me a wildman.

We've been trying to figure out what to do about the hood, mainly trying to figure out what scoop will work. It's and edelbrock intake made for a 289/302, but he made up some spacers. Him and my Uncle made spacers to run 2x4 intakes on 351w before they made 2x4 intakes specifically for the 351w.
