    Hey guys,
I was cruising around in the mav the other day not too fast, not too slow. I heard a little *PING* noise from the engine compartment like a little bolt hitting metal. It wasn't crazy loud, but I noticed it. After that, I noticed a bit of a louder exhaust sound coming from the left side of the engine compartment. If I revved the engine up good and then let off the gas I heard a *Wheeee* kind of whine noise for a second. When I got home I listened to the engine and it seems the sound is coming from the left rear cylinder of the V8. It still runs fine, and the noise isn't too scary, but could I be damaging the engine by riunning it? should I drive it to a shop, or have it towed? I cheched the bolts on the headers and they are all there, so it's not obviously an exhaust leak, I guess my header gasket could have blown.
Can I get some advice on what to check first?
    THanks!

Sounds to me like your starter may be engaging with the engine running. If so you'll need to pull it off and get it repaired or you will get stranded sooner or later. I don't recommend driving it until you get it checked further.

I'm a MORON!!! It turns out all of my header bolts were a little loose. I tightened them up and the engine sounds great! :slap:

At least this time, my mistake cost ZERO dollars!!! :)
