nother spring question

hi, i am about ready to install my front suspension from pst. i want to find rear leaf springs for my 74 comet, sence my right rear spring is shot.

tired of this stuff sitting in storage. Its getting to be spring time and i want to drive my car see you around memphis.


wherer can i find rear leaf springs for this car

No, an E150 at the junkyard. The leafs just happen to be the right size for our cars.

 

Now that you bought those, I think there are only 2 sets left...

 

i am glad that i did... uneven spring rates suck to drive... hit a bump and the car kinda oscillates... that should give me a whole new suspension

i guess i need to pick up new shackles, u-boltes, and spring bushings now.

 

I bought rear leaf springs from Laurel Mountain Mustangs today. He physically checked his inventory. They have two more sets to sell. They are $169.00 plus shipping. The total for me was $203.00.

 

now time to find all the bushings and stuff to install them.

 

well the leaf springs are installed... got the wrong u bolts, so another trip to the auto store. looks like they need to be the 7/16 u bolts not the 1/2inch.

what a pain in the but to remove the old bushings out of the frame. ended up having to go medieval with a right angle die grinder and some rotary rasps.
next to start the engine and transmission project. the block is off at the shop getting new freeze plugs and cam bearings.
