Well, winter is here and I went to get my winter car started 77 buick electra (park ave). Battery was toast so I replaced it with a new one, went to start it and noticed that I didn't fill the tank when I parked it three months ago, it has about 1/8th of a tank. I'm not getting fuel and I am wondering if it is possible that the fuel seperated and froze? If so I can just tow it to the garage and let it thaw but is there anything in the tank that would have been destroyed if it did indeed freeze?

did ya prime the carb?? Sometimes old cars dont want to pump any fuel when sitting for awhile. Also, the diaphram in the fuel pump goes bad when sitting sometimes.

My 57 sits for months at a time. I usually have to pump the pedal till my ankle gets tired before it starts. But, it always starts.

You have to keep cranking while you pump.

I'd throw some dry gas and fresh gas into the tank before you start it as well as a new fuel filter.

Dry gas? I've never heard of dry gas before. Do you mean just throw some in the carb because its dry?

rudyd,i believe dry gas is something you pour into the tank to disperse moisture.just tell the guy at the auto parts store what you are doing,he'll know what you are talking about.good luck...chuck.let us know if you get it fired up.
