Looking for opinions, good or bad. After being unable to decide a color for my maverick,I was seriously thinking about doing a tribute paint theme,to my favorite racer, the Late Great Dyno Don Nicholson. This would be just the outside paint, complete with the aluminum slot mags.I always loved the look and setup of His Maverick, but i don't want to do no dis-respect.Please let me know your thoughts/opinions,good or bad.

Street car or drag car? Either way I would only do it if I had the motor to back it up. JMO:)

I'd say go for it but I think I'd try to get the blessing of the person that owns the real car right now. I'm not sure if there would be some kind of infringement rights there or not. I saw the car at a show about 3-4 years ago in Atlanta. He even made a few passes with it down the track. That was so cool seeing that car go down the track in this day and time. I got a few picks of it doing so. (y)

I agree, there is nothing wrong with cloning the car but go all the way. Don't mock it. :tiphat:

Not a total clone, just a paying homage thing. If I start saving now,to do the whole thing to a T I might have enough in about 20 years.lol Thanks.

Maverick clone ( Dyno Don Nichols)

    Hi Ray:
The car that Dyno Don used to run is now owned by Wayne Jeffers and he lives in Orlando , Florida. As far as I know the car has been left "Untouched" with the markings and the 427 still intact. I spoke to him at the NPD All Ford show in Ocala , Florida in 2005. Maybe this information will help locate him :) Coometized
