So with the rising interest and selling prices of Mavericks i guess i better buy all my parts this week before everything doubles in price! Just kidding but i'm sure parts will become a hot commodity.
I've had my Maverick since 1989 but just got down to actually building it in the last 6 years. I look at what I paid for some things 15-20 years ago and I'm really glad I bought them then and not now. I'm sure it is no different today - it's always best if you can buy the parts now
I do not see a huge increase in parts prices for Mavericks. A price increase still requires an increase in DEMAND. While an occasional Maverick will sell for big bucks here and there, the DEMAND for Mavericks is still not there.
Well said Bob ...... I have dealt in quite a few NOS and used parts over the years. The supply has definately gone down in NOS stuff and the prices only seem to go up. While prices did dip with the bad economy of the past few years, they are rebounding quickly. When it comes to non-reproduced old parts, new or used, I would advise anyone to buy what you need now. Historically, 70's cars in general were very overlooked by the old car crowd but now are coming into prominence. It seems that there is an ever increasing interest in old cars (just look at membership numbers on this forum) but there are only so many old cars to be had. The number of old cars left are being sought after by an ever increasing number of buyers. JMHO ....
If it seems like prices are twice what they were twenty years ago, that's because today's dollar is only worth half of what it was worth in 1990. Just to keep it in perspective. But I bet you paid less than half of what you could buy them for today.
very true..i see some decent stuff get taken to scrap every week. i know of a particular mav that will probably be crushed tomorrow. luckily, i can say that it has been picked of any valuable parts
