Hey everyone, I just changed out my heater core today, (non-AC so it was a cake walk ^^) and in the process I spilled a little bit of coolant on my unplugged stereo deck and equilizer. I was wondering if coolant will just evaporate and leave no residue (or non conductive residue) or if I need to take my deck apart and clean it. Thanks for any replies.

i am 99.99999999999999% sure that antifreeze does not evaporate and that is what it is designed to do. sometimes when i have antifreeze leaks i cant figure out if it is old or new because of it not evaporating.

You also may need to get some electronic cleaner spray. Coolant likely will leave a residue behind. There's more than one kind of spray. Make sure it's the kind that won't hurt plastic components.

Some parts of the anti freeze will "evaporate". The lubricants and rust inhibiters will not leaving a slick/sticky residue.
