I was watching Horsepower TV I think and i heard something about new shocks made for classic cars. they are made by Edelbrock and based on the Performer IAS technology. Only problem is that they only make them for Mustangs and Cougars. Will they fit the Mav?? This may be a goofy question, but i am just curious.

Front shocks are the same, rears are different.

What is different about the rears? Is there anything that can be fabricated to make it work?

The rear shocks on mustangs and cougars Have a stud on both ends. A maverick shock has a stud on the lower only and a bolt on top that mounts to a bracket. I am sure you could find a way. Weld some thicker steel in the area and drill a hole. The thicker metal would prevent galling and deforming of the thinner metal. I believe comp engineering offers adjustable shocks for mavs drag race style but they are adjustable. My expiernce is that a set of monroes or KYBs are a great performer with a modest budget.
    Good luck

or have a another bracket made that would bolt in where the old one did and drill a hole to mount the shock.

Well, i guess a better question wouldve been what are good shocks made for the Mav. I need a street/strip setup and i dont think the air shocks on it now are going to do very well on the track.
