Just got done tearin apart the rear brakes on the maverick. What a mess!!!! Id assume these are the small brakes. is there a bigger set i can install without changing the back plate? I have to replace it all, so If I can get a better set up,,,, why not? I do have a 8.8 out of a ranger to install down the road,, but Im gonna run the stock rear end till it drops,,, Its in good shape, other than the brakes,, Im not going to abuse it too badly,,, I promise,, LOL!! So, what brakes will interchange to a better setup? My car is a 69.5. I think it is a 7.5 rear end. ChadS

Your 7.5" rear has 9" diameter brakes, 8" and 9" rears have 10" (usually) or 11" (occassionally) on some big cars and trucks. You're pretty much stuck with the small brakes with that rear.

Just throwing this out on the table - Is the Ford 7.5" in the early Maverick the same 7.5" found in the Bronco II and the small engine Ranger trucks? If it is, I bet the truck rear end would have a bigger rear brake than the cars did.

Another idea: what about the Granada 7.5? It would probably have larger brakes, too.
