This is going to be one heck of a story. First off, I have previously been a member, but I never really got off on a good start. I hadn't gotten the Maverick yet, so I knew almost nothing about the cars. However, since I now own one, I'm on the beginning of a long process of restoring the poor baby. How I got the car is quite a long story. I originally had a Saturn SC2, 1997 model. It was a great car for a daily driver, but it soon served as an indicator of how little I knew about cars. After a transaxle swap from automatic to manual, the car started becoming defunct. I still don't know what is wrong with the car. Those cars make no sense to me. At one time, however, the car was great. It had chrome wheels, 205/50's, and was running in great shape. When I came in one day for tire shine, a guy named James gave me his wisdom on different kinds of tire shine. From then on, I realized he really knew his stuff. When he saw I was growing fed up with my car, he offered to sell his Maverick to me for a decent price. Today, the car needs some rust repair, panel replacement, and a whole slew of other goodies and enhancements. However, being as the car has less than 32k miles on it and the 6-banger runs great, it was a good buy for 2k. I don't regret it one bit, and he's willing to help me in any way he can. I hope I can really make this car into something awesome!
We, too, hope you can make the car into something awsome. 'Sounds like you've got a head-start with a good foundation. Welcome back and good luck with the buld.
