So here it goes. I need some help with the bolt pattern for bucket seats and possibly the measurements on the seat spacers I'm using Pontiac Vibe seats in my car and I'm going to modify them to use stock ldo tracks but I don't have any spacers. Any help is greatly appreciated
Here is a really good tech article regarding putting non-Ford seats in a Maverick. http://mmb.maverick.to/resources/step-by-step-bucket-seat-install.105/ From my own experience putting the Highback buckets in my car, but using LDO tracks to gain head and knee room ( I am 6' tall), the LDO tracks do not have an outboard jog built into them, like Grabber/GT tracks do. If you use the bench seat floor holes, my combo moves the seats inboard, and it is no longer centered in front of the wheel, and tight to the tunnel. To center the seat, they need to be redrilled/ or slotted roughly 3/4". Being that you are using Pontiac seats and LDO tracks, rather than trying to make them adapt to the Ford pattern, it may be easier to center them in the space and build it to work with what you have on-hand. For reference, the Ford seat bolt pattern is 13x14 inches (front-to-rear/width). Going by memory, (hoping this is right) the front riser on the inboard track is 7/8" high and the back one is 1.25 ". If you are mounting the seats without using the 14" width, these numbers will change. The closer to the tunnel, they may need to be a bit longer to level the seats. Also, your car being early, (69.5), never had buckets and the tunnel is a bit smaller, so not sure the floor will be the same as 71-73. I would take everything presented here, mock up the seats, centered where you need them and level, and see if this will get it done. I am betting you will still need to make minor adjustments to make this whole combo work.
Thanks captian That info is great. Im just trying to get close. Just pulled the car from storage found that the passenger rear board is gone ..... Leaky back window so i wanna mock in seats so i can make the repair easyer to line up.
