    Hey everyone,

Got bad news. My Automechanics instructor seems to not like me very much so he is making every move I make hard as hell. Originally, I made a work order that covered the whole engine. In order to be able to make my car run, and last, I need to sand out the whole engine compartment. But for some reason, unknown to me, he has taken a great disliking towards me ever since I brought the car in. So, I have to have a sit down with him and ask him what his problem is. If I can't sand out the engine compartment, I might as well throw the car away.

I would think sanding would be Autobody ... not Auto Mechanics ... :)

Yeah I know, I can't get 2 work orders at once. But my instructor usually lets other students get away with working on more than just what is listed on the work order...it pisses me off so badly.

pull the engine out there, take the car back home, do your autobody stuff there, build the motor at scholl, when the engine is ready, your engine bay should be done by then, bring the car back in and set the motor back in place.

What about free time like before school, after school, lunch break, or your study hall? Will he let you in on off times to do the extra work?

No, he seems to be quite the arsehole. I would take the car home to work on it but I live at a dorm. I think Im gonna talk to him about it tomorrow. Thanks for the suggestions.

he could be saying that because he may have pressure from elsewhere.....after all ...sanding dust and paint residue is hazardous waste in some states and he may have been cautioned about allowing body work in an environment where there are no safety precautions against people ingesting the hazardous materials......

and you really don't want that dust in mechanical parts. Pull the car out side and work on it in your off time, just sand and prime a small section of the car at a time, not leaving any bare metal exposed to moisture

    Progress

    Hey Preston,

Yeah, I have some destructive progress. I have completely disassembled just about everything from the front wheels foward. Needs alot of work but will look great in the end. Went to a junkyard today and got some lights, trim, and a scoop for free, with the help of Jamie. I will be ordering parts Friday and will have all the parts I need to finish the engine. So I plan on spending a good solid week just on the motor next week. Oh yeah, get this. I am puting a turbocharger on the i6. I have never really seen one so thats why Im doing it. Jamie has a turbo from some german car and all I need to do is make a custom intake and exhaust manifold but I can design that. Other than that, nothing is really happening except that Im sandblasting a few parts and painting alittle. I will give you some pics tomorrow or so. (Maverick7285@yahoo.com) <--Still the right address eh?

    Later bro,

    Jeff
