sheet metal types to use for body work

    looking to do some patching instead of buying new/used body panels. it is possible to use galvanized sheet metal to do this? I obviously would grind off and clean the edge to be welded. or is there something else that would inhibit me from using it?

    yeah people use it, Ive heard they have problems because paint sometimes dosent stick to it, prep it well before paint.

    Nevermind on the galvanized. found some cold roll sheet for super cheap. Called a local place and it was $97 for 3'x4'. on ebay i got the same guage (18) 3 sheets 16''x40'' shipped for $32.

    The smoke from galvanized is very dangerous to breathe when welding.....Get regular steel
