I installed a B&M starshifter in my maverick. I have adjusted it many ways and have it where I can shift through all the gears. When I pull it pack to 1st I can shift it 1st 2nd drive with no problems. But when I go drive 2nd 1st I have to pull the trigger to go from 2nd to first. I was wondering if this was just the shifter design or do I have a problem

when you installed it did you look at the mechanisem that the trigger rides on and see the shape of the teeth? but it sounds like your shifter is fine, it's designed so you can upshift through the gears and not accidentally downshift when your flooring it...
Put it this way when your in 2nd and your turning about 5,000 RPM's you'll be able to shift up to 3rd bringing you to about 3,000 RPM's or so which is alot better then accidently shifting down to 1st which would bring you to over 6,000 or 7,000 RPM's which is at or over redline...
