What type of muffler would sound good on a 250 six? I want something loud but not too loud.

i was actually thinking about cutting mine off and replacing it with straight pipe out the back but im not sure how it'll sound on a 6. worked well on all the v8 cars of done it to though

The mav is gone but i'm still here!
a straight pipe sounds like those imports you don't like:p

my uncles using a flowmaster 40 series delta it sounds awesome...deep like a V8 but it still has that unique inline sound.

    cant be havin that :tsk:

if you really want our 6 to sound good a dual out header be the way to go but that and new exhaust isnt cheap.

alot of the guys on fordsix.com say to use a turbo style muffler but i have ne expierences with one

    We did a glass pack.
Stock manifold, 2" pipe all the way back with a glass pack.
    Sounds pretty cool.

The 250 has a mild build (bored .030", Schneider cam, log machined for Holley 2bbl)
I'll be adding a header later with dual pipes and get that cool guy sound.

I have a few friends that run striaght pipes, they are loud, but don't sound like a "loud and fast", just loud and obnoxious.

I know what Dan had on the "yeller" Mav he sold Rick. Can I assume that you are telling me the "white" car in the video, you posted, has the same muffler as Dan? I heard Dan's car up close and personal and I thought, though my ears may deceive me, that the one in the video sounded better.

Do you have a header on your 200?

I have a header and CompCam 252 cam installed in my 250 and soon, it will have a Holley/Weber 5200 2-bbl. That should sound good with one of dem dar Flowmaster Delta 40's, huh?
