rummaging thru the trunk of my recent acquisition, I found a tire lock for the spare. It is threaded for the spare tire J hook, and works with the Comet's trunk key. except for the fact that it works with the trunk key, and not the ignition key, and not for the trunk key of another Ford I have, I would suspect it is some POS picked up over the years. Any thoughts. I will post a picture tomorrow. It is heavy duty, about 1" by 1" by 3", black, and designed to work with Ford trunk key.

    Any suggstions?

Well, pull the turnip truck over, I wanna get off..... For answers to our delima go to

then to 1973 "options" and there it is. I guess the little old lady who bought the car was concerned that criminals would break into her trunk, and she would be deprived of a little tiny tire and wheel.

I seen those, they are pretty nice! I have a NOS one, but it doesn't seem to fit the earlier model year Mavericks, I haven't tried it on the 74' yet.
