The rubber horn piece on my steering wheel no longer stays on my 73. Ive seen two types of these and the original one I had was thinner than the used one i saw on eBay. Do they make these pieces new? Seems like it just slides right on but my original wont stay on anymore

It has been a really long time since I looked at one of these ... just wanted to tell you that they were used in other models at the time, too. Torino, Ranchero, and pretty sure some Mustangs (71 to 73). Might have had them in LTD and Galaxie, too, so these may give you some other search options.

I have seen two types. The one that was in the vehicle was narrow. At first I thought it was an original, but then noticed it had been painted over to match the inside interior. I received another one that was much wider, but I would assume since both were so old neither fit or would stay on very well. I've seen them on Ebay, just didn't know what the difference was between the two types so I can get the right one.

Do you have a photo of the differences you are speaking of?

I'll get one tonight. Might make it much easier.

Thats my issue. The cover wont stay on. The original is the narrow cover. I know this sounds stupid cause it looks like it should just slip over it. But it keeps coming off. I dont have the plastic two prong center piece. And my switch is NOS. Maybe just bneed a new cover. The center plastic piece is hard to find.
