My Comet was delivered today and there was some rust in a weird place...I know rust gives no quarter when it attacks.
This is in the bottom of both front doors in the forward area.
What is weird about it is...the rockers are spotless. Not even a hint of rust...along with the lower rear quarters its the only place I have found rust..SO FAR.
I need to know what caused this...leaky window weatherstripping?
Im not gonna repair it just to have it happen again.

 i would guess it is a stopped up drain hole. from what i have noticed looking at rust spots is they come from stopped up drains or no drain was put where it was needed. some i found were stopped up with seam sealer from the factory. jmo...frank...:bananaman :bananaman
p.s. could we get a pic.?

    Yes, that's it.

The water runs by the weatherstripping and sits at the bottom of the inside of the door. The worst part of it is that the inside of the doors are typically bare metal.
Rust there seems to be pretty common on many Ford vehicles.
Most have drain holes that get stopped up with slime and dirt.

GRRRR... I don't know if I can save the doors or not...its only about a 4 inch strip right at the front...identical on both doors.
The rest of the door is fine... I'm gonna try I think.
Frank the only pic I've taken is posted on the Main.
I'm gonna get in to it more tomorrow.
The rust comes up from the bottom of the door about a half inch on the inner door face, making this repair look good is gonna be a challenge
