Hey has anyone seen or used the new Summit Racing brand intake manifolds? I was wondering how they compare to the Edelbrock, Weiand, Holley, ect.. intakes.

No I dint get the gt40 heads.. they had 65cc chambers.. so I'm still looking for some decent low buck heads.

But the Summit manifolds look good, in their catalog. I wonder what their casting quality is like and who makes them..
I believe summit dosn't make their own parts but just puts their name on them?

Some of the Summit intakes look like carbon copies of E'brock, some look like Weiand.
Nothing would surprise me anymore about where they get them.
China, Austrailia, and the US companies themselves, all supply stuff for other folks to put there label on...
Half of what Edelbrock sells for example, isn't their stuff. Just supplied with an E'brock sticker on it.

I would worry about it myself.
I want one of Summit's Stealth knock-offs... I think they call it Stage 2???

yeah they have a stage 1/2/3

stage 1 is like a performer

stage 2 is like a wieland

stage 3 is like an AIR GAP intake

i think that is about right, but thats just by looking at pictures

I just checked the summit website and the summit stage 1 manifolds look identical to the weiand action plus manifolds and the stage 2 look identical to the weiand stealths and the stage 3 look simmilar to the edelbrock air gaps.

I think I want one of their stealth knock-offs too, they'er 35 bucks cheaper.

Yeah I agree, but I would think that they were made with the same molds as the Weiand ones. but the Stealth knock-offs do have a different rpm range listed from the real Stealth.

Me personally, I'm not one to buy stuff because its cheaper. Edelbrock advertises that their stuff is made her in the US. Maybe these are made under license in another country where quality control is not as good. JMO

Is there any reason to believe that the summit manifolds are of a lesser quality?

I guess we wont know until someone get ahold of them both and compares them side by side.. who wants to be first to buy a summit manifold? ;)

i've used other parts with the summit name on them and they were all pretty good quality. i don't think summit is going to put theor name on any inferior parts. but, i've never used a summit manifold. be nice to know.:)
