I got a new 2 gauge kit from Summit yesterday. It has a bulb sensor o attached to it. I want to know if I can cut the bulb off and use the gauge with the regular type temp sensor I have already installed in the manifold?

The one thats in the manifold is a ring terminal type sender.
Is that only used with the idiot light, or can it be used for a mechanical gauge as well?

If I'm understanding you correctly about what kind of temp gauge you're talking about, you should not cut the sender off. You can't splice that "wire" and you should also avoid kinking it.

if I understand correctly, the guage you bought is mechanicle and has a Beardon tube that is immersed in the coolant for it to work?? Dont cut that line at all the guage will be garbage(un-usable) if you do.Buy an electric one to go with your electric temp sensor.

or you can unscrew the temp sensor you have in your intake and install the new temp probe into that hole
