put in pertronix ignitor, checked timing and the most I can get is 4 degrees, turn it anymore and it hits the dip stick , starts and seems to run just fine, didn't get a chance to drive it yet do you think 4 is fine it says 6 on the valve cover, anyone ever ran into that?

My 200 was like that. I tried restabbing the distributor but it wouldnt drop in any other way. I ended up moving all the plug wires over one spot and reseting the timing accordingly.

I was able to set the timing at 10 degrees btdc and had no interference with the dipstick anymore. My 200 amd my 250 like a lot of advance. Spec calls for 6 degrees so I dont think you will like it at 4.
