    Hi everyone; I currently have 1) '72 mav. 6cyl auto, 2 door, and 1) '73 V8 auto
4 door bad trans, and a '68 mustang V8 3spd. All are projects.

My question is this; will the V8 bolt up in place of the 6, does the torque converter need to changed because of different rpms/torque, will the 8 even bolt to the 6's trans bell housing???

Ive been working on cars for years, but this is the first time I've come across the need for this type of swap. Any help is appreciated.

    Thanx

since you have all the v8 parts, it will bolt in. you have to use the frame cross member, frame mounts and tranny crossmember, posibly the v8 throttle cable. i think the tranny should bolt right up. they are both c-4's, and have 26 spline input shafts. either way i would question putting a tranny in without getting it rebuilt or installing a used convertor. you may end up changing it out again. :)

:Welcome: yes they will, and you have all the parts between the two cars. unless something is missing from the 4 door

We changed out a straight 6 for a 302 on my first Maverick with no problems. Everything went together fine. Good luck.
