Okay, so far i under stand the 250 to 302 swap for the C4 is good, but i have two speed? I havnt seen car cause its been stored since summer but is that correct? If so, should i be happy with the performance of that?

Now for the body, Ive been thumping through all these pictures of all your amazing comets and mavericks, but i havnt seen any that have same front bottem fenders as mine? The part that sticks under the bumper. when i baught the car i got a piece that was supose to go there but didnt fit correctly? The car is a Comet but Maverick front end. Any sugestions?

    Thanks! :bananaman

This is best pic i could get, circled what im talking about with the body.

It should have a C4 in it, which is a 3-speed.

Would help if you could show a pic. If it's a comet stone guard, it won't fit the maverick front end. Does it have Maverick bumpers and hood?:)

The Ford-o-matic two speed was last used in 1964. It will swap in place for the C4, so if sombody put a two speed in it you can always swap in a C4 again.... Maybe it just isn't working correctly because it has been stored for so long. It probably needs to be rebuilt because the seals have all gone flat on the bottom.

I have a 1976 Maverick Stallion, and 85 More Mavericks and Comets in Inventory.
Might need a Vacume Modulator on the trans,, they get dry rotted and wont work,, check the vacume lines coming up from the tranny,, if they feel all goopy and floppy rubbery and have traces of trans fluid it them,,thats a good sign the modulator is bad,, new one is not that expensive and its easy to change,, but change the old vacume lines as well,,

The one that wraps underneath is for the small bumpers;pre-74 cars. You can convert your car to the small bumpers,do a search on here,it's done quite a bit.
