I'm finally getting to the point where I will be able to afford to start tearing down my car and rebuilding it. I started buying parts last year (various interior components, new leaf springs, headlights, grabber hood, etc) but I don't know what type of bucket seats to use. So, is it better to try to use original seats if possible, or to buy new seats like Corbeau GTS II's or something? For those not using original seats, what are you using? I replaced the bench with buckets from a 94 Ford Windstar, but those were temporary and won't stay with the car as I rebuild it. All input on comfort, style, and functionality are appreciated!

'71 Maverick bucket seats, but I don't think that's the answer you're looking for.

I will be using 2005 Mustang seats as soon as I have them re-foamed and leatherized. I expect the brackets will need to be modified for fitment.

Crazy Larry, I'm mostly just looking for what people recommend. If the original seats are great for some reason other than being original, then by all means speak up! The car will definitely be a driver, so I want something comfortable but also supportive. My lower back get fatigued after about 2 hours of driving if I don't have decent lumbar support. I have a 1998 Ford Contour SVT and those seats aren't bad, but I think they're just a little too soft.

I think 2010 Ford Escape seats would be a good fit.

'Sounds like you need something more modern than factory original seats.

I have 2010 Mustang seats full power both sides.I modified the Mustang seat tracks to fit the original Maverick bucket seat holes in the floor.

I'm using aftermarket Fox Mustang seats I bought 20 years ago from some place in California. Looking to upgrade this year, I'd like to find seats like my Chrysler 300 has.

Before the Fox seats I have now I used 70 Mustang seats. They're very similar to the Maverick highbacks but don't provide near the support that modern seats have.

I have seats from a '96 Mustang that I have been trying to get my friend to put in my car for the last 6 months.

if steve tried to do it himself he would probably split in half. poor guys been gutted like a pregnant chick having half a dozen kids at the same time lol sorry bud I mean it in defense LMAO

back to the original post. I bought racing seats from summit for my car and didnt like them they were real hard on my back so I sold them for $60 to curb hopper and tried his unknown free seats from the swap meet and wanted something else I think they were mid 80's buckets. I bought a comet gt that came with ldo bucket seats out of another comet and they are the ones. FINALLY a comfortable seat that I think I can ride forever on.
