I just bought a flex light electrical fan and was hooking up the wires. so i ran the postive wire to the only 12v wire that i know of under the hood ove by the drivers strut tower. It did not run nearly as fast as when i hooked it up to the battery by itself. I also have my msd hooked up tp that wire just to give the signal to let the msd box to turn on. I kept turning the key for ward a couple of times to make sure it was working when my msd box blew up. Any sugestion on where to put the wire for the fan that wont some how blow up my msd box? thank you for all of your help.

use a relay to turn on the fan. it can take the main power directly from the battery and you can use the power wire youve been using to triger the relay.
the reason it blew your msd is that when you turn on the fan and turn it off it will create voltage spikes and with the key turned off the spike went to the msd.

Actually terminal 30 is the 12v feed but it really doesn't matter in real life...only on paper
